The Tiels Are Hatching!

Spring is arriving here at Phoenix Feathers even if the snow hasn't yet left.  The Cockatiels are hatching in droves and it looks like we will have plenty of babies. Many fancy colors (lutino, pearl, cinnamon, whiteface and pieds). And a few of the more rare colors (pastelface, fallow, silver) as well as rare and fancy splits. We're at about 20 chicks with more hatching every day.

If you're interested in something specific, now is the time to get on the waiting list. It's free and you'll only have to wait a couple weeks to see what colors we'll have in the spring clutches. Most of these pairs won't be set up again until fall. Don't miss out. Email me at PhoenixTiels@gmail.com today.

Something new - Red Rump Parakeets!

Yes, that's right, we brought home some wonderful new birds. Many thanks to Terri from Gouldladies Babies for the bright new feathers here at Phoenix. The new additions include a beautiful pair of lutinos as well as two single normal boys. I'll post pictures as soon as I can to the website.

Oh! and the pair seems to be wanting to breed already so we'll set them up with a next box soon. Watch for news.

New Parrotlets

Yep, we have picked up a couple new parrotlets this week including a sweet little American White and a less sweet, but very pretty American Yellow. Although they were supposed to be a bonded pair, it turns out they're both hens. Hopefully in the next few months we'll be able to find mates for these pretty little girls.

The Conures...

The DNA results are back on the new green-cheeked conures. It seems we have two girls and a boy. Woot! Now that we know genders I thought it'd be appropriate to name the new birdies and officially add them to the flock.

Cinnamon female - Kimi. I've paired her up with Killroy.
Pineapple female - Kali. She'll be paired up with Kujo.
Normal male - Kasey (he's for sale)

Can't wait until I can announce some new baby conures here. Hopefully that will later this spring.

New additions!

After a long day of traveling, we're back home again with some new additions to the flock. Including 3 green-cheeked conures (1 normal, 1 cinnamon & 1 pineapple) and 5 parrotlets (1 Am White female, 2 Am Yellow females, 1 blue male & 1 green male). It made for an exciting day. Now it's late and everyone is settling in nicely.

New Cockatiel Babies Hatched

Lucian and Majestic are nesting on four whiteface chicks! These should be sex linked, with male chicks being whiteface lutino and female chicks being whiteface cinnamon lutino. So far all four look healthy and happy parents are busy keeping them fed and cared for.
